Why not just use Revit for everything?
Revit is built for parametric BIM elements: walls, doors, ducts, the pieces a building information model is organized around. Complex organic geometry, fabrication-grade solids, and lightweight animation assets usually need a mesh, surface, or solid modelling tool instead, which is why we keep a separate pipeline in 3DSmax, Geomagic and Blender for that work rather than forcing it through Revit.
Can you combine this with a Revit deliverable?
Yes, many projects need both: a BIM model for coordination and a mesh or surface model for visualization or fabrication. We quote them as a combined scope.
